Perfect chocolate cupcakes recipe

  • Yield: 24 cupcakes or two 9-inch cakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water
How to Make It
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl until combined.
  3. Place cake into a greased 9" × 13" pan, two 9-inch cake pans, or two cupcake pans
  4. Bake for 25 minutes or until a fork inserted into the middle of the cake or cupcakes comes out clean. Allow cake or cupcakes to cool completely before icing. Cover iced cupcakes or cake with plastic wrap or store in an airtight container for 2–3 days.
