Ingredients
- ½ quantity Basic Bread Dough
- 500 g Basic Bolognaise, cooled
- 250 ml grated mozzarella
- 1 egg, beaten
- 60 g butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 5 ml salt
- 15 ml chopped fresh parsley, plus extra for garnishing
- 250 ml Basic Tomato Sauce, for dipping
How to Make It
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Divide the bread dough into 10 equal portions and roll out into circles until about 1 cm thick.
- Spoon some mince onto each rolled-out dough circle and top with a little cheese.
- Brush the edges of the dough with the beaten egg and pinch at the seams to close it up into a little ‘ball’.
- Place the balls in a circle, seam-side down, in a cast-iron skillet.
- Mix the melted butter with the garlic, salt and parsley. Brush the balls with the garlic butter mixture and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5–10 minutes. Place a bowl of warm tomato sauce in the middle of the skillet.
- Sprinkle the bread balls with parsley and watch everyone really enjoy these!
